Selection of the project "Developing intensive farming for high-yield plants in Tan Lam commune, Xuyen Moc district" (20/07/2016)
On June 29th, the Department of Science and Technology held a Committee to select organization and individuals to implement the research project "Developing intensive farming for some high-yield plants in Tan Lam commune, Xuyen Moc district". Mr. Vuong Quang Can, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, was the chairman of the Committee.
On June 14th, the Department of Science and Technology organized a Committee to review and decide whether to accept the research project “History of the management and exploitation of Ba Ria - Vung Tau sea and islands from the early twentieth century (1900-2013)”. The project is carried by Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities with Dr. Pham Ngoc Tram as project leader.
On June 10th, at Song Xoai commune of Tan Thanh district, the Centre for Science and Technology Information and Statistics (Department of Science and Technology) in cooperation with the Farmers Association of Tan Thanh district held a workshop on the topic "New biochemical products to use in high-tech cultivation and to cope with the impact of climate change on agriculture". The facilitator was Dr. Nguyen Dang Nghia - the Tropical Agricultural Research and Consultancy Centre.
On June 8th, a Scientific and technological Council meeting was held by the Department of Science and Technology to evaluate the provincial research project "Developing the protocol for Pacific Oyster hatchery (Crassostrea gigas Thunberg, 1793)" in Vung Tau city. The project was led by Eng. Nguyen Van Manh (Economic Chamber of Vung Tau City People’s Committee) and Eng. Pham Minh Cong (Center for Application of Scientific and Technological progresses).
"Appling soil stabilization technology in road construction (RoadPacker soil stabilizer)" (18/07/2016)
On June 16th, the Department of Science and Technology held a Committee to select project lead for the pilot project "Appling soil stabilization technology in constructing road in Kim Long commune, Chau Duc district, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province using RoadPacker soil stabilizer". PhD. Nguyen Trong Tien and his team from Troy International Co., Ltd. were chosen to carry the implementation the project.

The Saigon Posts and Telecommunications Service Joint-Stock Corporation (SPT) has begun to offer free public wifi in Vung Tau City in the southern province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

the training "Identify radioactive sources at metal scrap recycling
facilities in Long Dien District" was held at Long Dien District Union
Hall. Attending the training were more than 50 local government officers and
owners of metal scrap recycling facilities Long Dien district.
On May 12th, the Department of Science and Technology of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province held the scientific conference "The effects of Pyriproxyfen used in mosquito larvae control in waste water in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province" at the Meeting Hall of the Center for Science and Technology Information and Statistics.
Training workshop on identification of suspicious radioactive sources (05/05/2016)
In 02 days from April 21 to April
22, 2016, the Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the
Provincial Economic Division of Vung Tau City organized the training workshop
on identification of suspicious radioactive sources at waste recycling
facilities in Ward 2, Ward 7 and Ward 11 of Vung Tau city. There were 120 people
participated in the training, including Ward People's Committee officials,
waste collectors and people whose work is related to recycling waste.
