Celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day 2023

On May 18, 2023, the Department of Science and Technology of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province successfully held a meeting to welcome Vietnam's Science and Technology on May 18, 2023.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Pham Quang Nhat - Secretary of the Party Committee of the Department of Science and Technology, Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Former Director of the Department of Science and Technology; the delegates are former leaders, former officers/managers of the Department of Science and Technology; experts, scientists, leaders of Institutes and Universities; leaders of science and technology organizations and enterprises; start-up businesses; representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities in the province; and all civil servants, officials and employees of the Department of Science and Technology attended the meeting to celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day 2023.

Science and Technology Day 2023 with the theme "Development of science, technology and innovation on the basis of Vietnamese culture"; “Science, technology and innovation - enhancing national potential and position”; "Science, technology and innovation - the driving force for sustainable development". This is a message that arouses pride in Vietnamese intelligence and the spirit of passion and creativity among people, especially the young Vietnamese generation in the sustainable construction and development of the country.

According to the Director of the Department of Science and Technology, the year 2023 is considered a special time, it is the 10th anniversary of the implementation of the Law on Science and Technology in 2013, the 10th time to celebrate the anniversary of Vietnam Science and Technology Day, and the occasion to celebrate the anniversary 30 years of establishment and development of Department of Science and Technology of BR-VT province. Over the past years, the Department of Science and Technology has continued to make great efforts to advise the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to implement many tasks and solutions setting out in the Resolution of the 7th Provincial Party Congress, Resolution No.05 NQ/TU of the Province Party Standing Committee on the development of science and technology of the province up to 2020, with a vision to 2025. In addition, the department implemented many tasks, solutions, programs, policies to support businesses, achieving many results.

However, in order to continue to realize the views and goals of the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress as well as to achieve goals of the provive still needs the responsibility all levels and sectors, especially the interest, suggestions and active participation of experts, generations of leaders, managers, S&T organizations and enterprises and civil servants in the science and technology sector, especially the approach to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, research and application, promoting the transfer of advanced science and technology from abroad to Vietnam according to the policy of the Party and State in the current market economy and international integration conditions.

The Director of the Department of Science and Technology affirmed that the enterprise is the center for scientific and technological activities. The department continues to research formulating and implementing science and technology policies to support enterprises in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, focusing on supporting enterprises to apply, transfer and modern technology and equipment, encouraging, facilitating and supporting enterprises to start-up and innovate. Moreover, the department continues to improve and promote the startup ecosystem to develop more pervasively, deeply and strongly.

At the meeting, experts, scientists, leaders of Institutes and Universities and science and technology organizations and enterprises and start-up businesses participated in discussions and exchanges on key issues in the development of science, technology and innovation.
