VietNamNet Bridge – Advanced technologies of nuclear power industry from Japan, a leading country in nuclear power development, is on display in the central province of Ninh Thuan from September 4-6.

The exhibition-cum-seminar is jointly organised by Ninh Thuan provincial People’s Committee, the Vietnam Nuclear Energy Institute, the Electricity of Vietnam, the Japan External Trade Promotion Organisation and the Japan Forum for Nuclear Energy Industry.
At the exhibition, the Japanese groups introduce the latest and safest nuclear power technologies, particularly measures to ensure safety of nuclear power plants.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Dinh Tien praised cooperation between Japanese partners and Vietnamese relevant agencies.
He said the event aimed to implement the Nuclear Power Law on the one hand and help Ninh Thuan residents understand more about nuclear power on the other hand, towards public consensus on construction of the country’s first nuclear power plant.
Earlier, on September 3, the Prime Minister decided to set up a State council to appraise the investment report of the Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant project.
The PM asked the Electricity of Vietnam and relevant agencies to soon finalize the project for submission to the National Assembly for approval.
He also assigned Ninh Thuan authority to prepare infrastructure for nuclear power plant construction once the project is approved.
The 4,000 MW nuclear power plant is expected to be commissioned in 2020.
