The fourth World IT Forum (WITFOR 2009) in Hanoi was closed on August 28 after three working days.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong, in his closing remarks, stressed that Vietnam needs to expand ICT co-operation, exchange information and share ICT development knowledge with other countries to build an information society.
Through the forum, the Vietnamese Government once again reiterated its commitments on boosting ICT development and encouraging co-operation in ICT with regional countries and other countries in the world.
Seven plenary sessions and 32 sub-committee sessions were held during the forum, underscoring the importance of ICT in each economy and the world as a whole, and its profound impact on society, helping to narrow the gap between developed and developing countries, rural and urban areas and the rich and the poor.
Representative of the forum’s co-organiser, the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP), highly valued Vietnam’s successful preparation, organisation and operation of the event.
