Recently, the Department of Science and Technology BR-VT has conducted checking and taking over the project of application of solar energy at the two Border Stations and Dinh River float observing station. The works are carried out by the Center for Application of Advanced Science and Technology with total investment of nearly 100 million VND.

Total capacity which is produced by eight solar panels reaches 432Wp (216Wp/station). Each panel has service life of 25 to 30 years. The purpose of the two works is to actively lighting power for the foresaid two guard stations to support the management and control of vessels going in and out of these two areas; Also contributing support to enhance the living conditions of officers and soldiers of these two stations.

According to officers and soldiers of the two stations, since the solar power station was put into use, the power supply in the stations has been stable, ensuring a partial demand for electricity in the activities. Especially, time of lighting and brightness of the lights in the stations has been ensured, creating favourable conditions for vessels going in and out as well as limiting the risks to the vehicles.
