PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV Gas) has recently honored the Third - Class Independence Medal. This is the results of 20-year effort of generations from officials and workers in the corporation.

In the past 5 years, PV GAS invested about VND6,800 billion to perfect the infrastructure system of Vietnam"s gas industry, including key projects such as Phu My - Ho Chi Minh City Gas Pipelines to serve the key triangle economic development of the South; Su Tu Den / Su Tu Vang – Rang Dong Gas Pipeline... 

PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV Gas) has recently honored the Third - Class Independence Medal. This is the results of 20-year effort of generations from officials and workers in the corporation.

Being established on 20 September 1990 with the tasks of gathering, transporting, processing, storing, distributing and trading of gas and gas products, PV GAS have saved, in 20 years of operation, a significant amount of foreign currency for the country by using gas instead of imported DO to generate electricity, and providing gas and gas products serving for other industries, contributed revenue of nearly VND125,000 billion to the oil and gas industry, paid to the State budget an amount of VND23,000 billion. Especially, the preeminent advantages and competitive prices of gas as compared with other materials and fuels have become attractive advantages to investors at home and abroad, contributing to formation of Phu My and Ca Mau Gas- Power – Fertilizer industrial zone - the two largest power manufacturing centers. Since 2008, PV Gas started production of natural gas compressed (CNG) for transportation and urban areas, contributing to environmental protection (exhaust fume, greenhouse effect).

In the past 5 years, PV GAS invested about VND6,800 billion to perfect the infrastructure system of Vietnam"s gas industry, including key projects such as Phu My - Ho Chi Minh City Gas Pipelines to serve the key triangle economic development of the South; Su Tu Den / Su Tu Vang – Rang Dong Gas Pipeline; the gas collection at Rong - Doi Moi fields, low pressure gas project - phase 2 and LPG storage projects. With a specific branch of advanced technologies, strict requirements on safety and fire prevention, PV GAS has gradually improved integrated management systems for safety - health - environment and quality according to the international standard OHSAS 18001 in all stages, the environmental management system under the international standard ISO 14001 and the international certificate of quality management systems according to the international standard ISO 9001. In the process of operating the gas system, PV GAS has not any incidents affecting property or people. Besides, many technical innovations and management have been applied in practice, saved nearly VND2,300 billion.

PV GAS always takes interests in the work of social security, gratitude, relief, and support to programs for the community. In four consecutive years (2006-2009), PV Gas was the exclusive sponsor for the National Football Championship - PetroVietnam Gas V-League -, the company deducted from the welfare fund and contributions from day-wages of officials to build hundreds of houses of gratitude. Particularly in 2009, the total amount that PV Gas donated over VND100 billion for charitable activities.

Since shifting in operation under the form of parent company – subsidiaries (2008), PV GAS become the leading petroleum company in the scale of production, trade and competitiveness, become a strong commercial brand name of Asian. In particular, in the 2005 – 2009 period, PV GAS always completed and exceeded production and trading targets on an average of 10% - 15% / year. PVGas has been honored to receive the First Class, Second Class and Third Class Labor Medals; Vietnam Gold Star prize and many awards, merits of the levels of ministries, sectors and localities in recent years.
