International scientific centre to be built in Binh Đinh

An International Centre for Interdisciplinary Scientific Meetings will be under construction in the south-central coastal province of Binh Dinh by the end of 2011 and is scheduled for completion in 2013.

An International Centre for Interdisciplinary Scientific Meetings will be under construction in the south-central coastal province of Binh Dinh by the end of 2011 and is scheduled for completion in 2013.

This information was announced at a meeting held at the Château de Blois (Blois Castle)  in France by overseas Vietnamese professor Tran Thanh Van on June 2 and 3.

Accordingly, the centre, located on an area of nearly 20 ha, will be a complex of high-quality conference rooms and will serve as a venue for scientific events in the Asia-pacific region.

Professor Van said the centre will provide Vietnamese scientists with a platform to exchange experiences with eminent scientists from all over the world.

The ground clearance for the centre is expected to be completed by July.

The annual “Blois Meetings” were first held by professor Van in 1989. this year’s 23rd meeting, which was focused on particle physics and cosmography, was attended by 150 physicists from around the world.

During the 2011 meeting, the Chairman of the Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee, Le Huu Loc, expressed the provincial authorities’ commitment to the project and called for assistance from the world’s scientists.
