The plan, which is the adjusted planning scheme of Côn Đảo, sets to house some 20,000 residents by 2020 and the figure is to rise to 30,000 by 2030.
Côn Đảo includes 16 islands and islets, with the largest one being Côn Sơn Island, which are also accessible by plane. The development of the district must be attached closely with the preservation of historic and cultural relics, forest-maritime ecosystem and national defense and security, according to the plan. The district will features a multi-center model which can be divided into preservation area and urban space.
Côn Đảo to welcome 200,000 arrivals by 2020
Côn Đảo, an Islands District of Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu province, is expected to welcome 200,000 visitors a year from now to 2020, according to the plan approved by Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng.
