The Vietnam Posts & Telecommunications Group (VNPT) will provide free wireless Internet (wifi) signals along pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem (Sword) Lake and adjacent areas under the approval of the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee.

The Vietnam Posts & Telecommunications Group (VNPT) will provide free wireless Internet (wifi) signals along pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem (Sword) Lake and adjacent areas under the approval of the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee.

Nguyen Sy Tien, head of the Post and Telecommunications Department under the Department of Information and Communications (DoIC) said the installation of 21 Wifi stations is expected for completion prior to the inauguration of the walking streets on September 1, noting that the DoIC will be in charge of techniques and operation of the wifi stations.

According to the DoIC, the pedestrian streets will include Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Lai, Le Thach, Dinh Le, Nguyen Xi, Trang Tien, Hang Khay, Le Thai To, Lo Su, and Dang Dau.
