On the morning of October 8, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province held a conference to deploy the event “Ba Ria - Vung Tau Techconnect 2020” at the hall. Mr. Tran Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Mr. Ta Viet Dung - Director of State Agency for Technology Innovation co-chaired the Conference. Attending the Conference, on the side of the Ministry of Science and Technology, there were leaders of the State Agency for Technology Innovation, the Department of Local Science and Technology Development, Agency for Southern Affairs of Ministry of Science and Technology - Ministry of Science and Technology. On the local side, there were leaders of the Department of Science and Technology, leaders of departments, branches, localities and a number of news agencies in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

The event  "Ba Ria - Vung Tau Techconnect 2020" will take place in 2 days from December 3 to 4, 2020 in Vung Tau city. The event is organized to promote technology transfer, application and commercialization of technology research results that contribute to the development of the technology market serving businesses for technology innovation, development of new products, and high competitiveness in the province and in the country.

"Ba Ria - Vung Tau Techconnect 2020” will include a series of main activities including:

 -  Opening and Closing Ceremony

 - Activities of supply - demand technology connection and technical consulting, introduction and support to participate in programs / projects at the exhibition area. It is expected that there are about 200 exhibitors, introducing nearly 400 technologies / equipment / research results and about 20 units wishing to participate in technical consultancy. The exhibition area is expected to have 5 zones, including: (A) High technology in agriculture; (B) Advanced technology for environmental treatment, waste treatment, wastewater,…; technology in the renewable energy industry - energy saving solutions; (C) Industry 4.0 key technologies; (D) Technology / equipment / services of startups; (E) S&T products / equipment / products of provinces / cities. There are also Technology Consulting Zone, Technical Process Improvement (for businesses, organizations and individuals wishing to talk to experts) and Technology Supply and Demand Zone (for businesses, organizations and individuals exchanging and negotiating technology transfer).

- Conference on local technology application and transfer activities in 2020 will summarize technology application and transfer activities from 2016 to 2020 and operational directions for the 2021-2025 period. In addition,  the conference will evaluate the results of the implementation of the investment projects to improve the capacity of the Centers according to the Decision No. 317 / QD-TTg dated March 15, 2012 of the Prime Minister and the orientation for the period of 2021 – 2025. Moreover, the conference will discuss the need for technology transfer and innovation cooperation between enterprises and the Centers ...

- The scientific seminar "High technology application in agriculture" will assess the current situation and the need for hi-tech application and innovation in agriculture and introduce some high technologies in agriculture successfully applied in domestic and foregin. In addition, the seminar will discuss the needs of technology application, innovation and connecting investment partners to support technology application and development in agriculture.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Ta Viet Dung acknowledged and appreciated the preparation of the Department of Science and Technology of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in the past time to actively implement the contents of the event; in particular, the close attention and timely direction of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. Mr.Ta Viet Dung has assigned departments of the State Agency for Technology Innovation to be the focal point of contact. It is necessary to concretize and coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology of BR-VT province to jointly implement the content of the plan and provides guides to the Departments of Science and Technology to implement the Conference on local technology application and transfer activities in 2020. Moreover, coordination with the Department of Science and Technology to investigate and survey the supply and demand of technology to supplement the database for businesses need to be implemented. At the same time, the Director also asked the Provincial People's Committee to direct the Department of Science and Technology to coordinate with the departments and branches of the province of BR-VT to prepare the material, technical and medical facilities to best serve the event. Addtionally, promoting communication before, during and after the event taking place on the mass media across the country need to be concerned. On the side of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology will direct the units under the Ministry to strengthen coordination with the Departments of Science and Technology of the provinces and centrally-run cities and relevant units to make the event successful.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Tran Van Tuan emphasized that the event "Ba Ria - Vung Tau Techconnect 2020" in Vung Tau City, in December is one of the important events in the country. This is a great opportunity for the province as well as S&T to connect, share, learn from experience, through many outstanding events such as promoting cooperation in investment research, application and technology transfer between units and individual in the country; connection supply – demand technology between businesses with research institutes, universities, scientists in domestic and foreign; promoting research results, ideas that have high applicability and commercialization for businesses that need for investment... This event aims to improve capacity and efficiency of S&T activities in the locality. Additionally, it supports enterprises in changing new equipment technology, strengthens connection activities and contributes to promoting the impact of transferring the application of S&T advances into production in the locality. Mr. Tran Van Tuan suggested the Department of Science and Technology to coordinate with relevant departments and agencies in the province to well implement the preparation tasks, especially the communication before, during and after the event taking place to make it successfull.
