On April 22, 2022, the Center for Information and Application of Science and Technology - Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Provincial Youth Union organized a thematic report class "Propaganda and popularize knowledge about intellectual property, innovation for the delegation." youth member”. Attending, there were Mr. Do Huu Hien - Deputy Director of Department of Science and Technology, Mr. Nguyen Trong Tu - Deputy General Director of INVESTIP Company, along with more than 100 delegates and guests who are youth union officials, students of districts, towns and cities in the province.

It is known that intellectual property (IP) - one of the three pillars of modern international trade play an important role in encouraging research and technology development, and improving the quality of goods and creating prestige for the product, increasing the commercial value of the product. To celebrate this year's World Intellectual Property Day (April 26), WIPO issued the announcement "Intellectual property and the youth: Innovating for a better future". Some activities to raise intellectual property awareness such as propaganda, knowledge dissemination, intellectual property law, consultancy, guidance on registration, establishment and protection of intellectual property rights, etc. have been focused and organized in Vietnam in general and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in particular recently.

In the opening speech, Mr. Do Huu Hien emphasized the purpose of the thematic report to improve the synchronization and efficiency in intellectual property activities at all stages of creation, establishment, exploitation, protection and rights implementation to create an environment that encourages innovation, meets the requirements of international integration, and makes intellectual property becoming an important tool in improving the province's competitiveness. intellectual property activities have the active participation of all actors in society, in which research institutes, universities, colleges, especially enterprises playing a leading role in creating and exploiting intellectual property and promote socio-economic development of the province. Raising awareness of intellectual property of enterprises, organizations and individuals is to towards the formation of IP culture in the province.

He also hopes that the contents of the thematic report will help young people and youth union members understanding the provisions of the law as well as the province's policies and guidelines on intellectual property activities and the importance of the law. This will support the connection as well as exploitation of intellectual property, commercialization of ideas, start-up projects with high feasibility that contribute to the socio-economic development of the province.

At the class, the youth union members listened to Mr. Nguyen Trong Tu imparting practical knowledge as well as guiding the steps when implementig intellectual property rights such as intellectual property overview, the role of intellectual property rights in encouraging innovation, the importance of the protection of intellectual property rights for the creation of products, creation in work and study, etc. At the same time, the youth union members also listened to the overview of the implementation plan of the intellectual property right strategy to 2030 in the province of BR-VT presented by Ms. Tran Thi Kim Lien - Deputy Head of Science Management Department - Department of Science and Technology.
