Training on "Intellectual property management" (08/11/2024)
On November 4, the Center for Information and Application of Science and
Technology - Department of Science and Technology of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province
coordinated with Training and Support Center for Technology
Commercialization - National
Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development - The Ministry of Science and Technology
organized the opening of a training class on "Intellectual property
management" for staff related to the science and technology market, and
technology transfer consulting at universities, science and technology
organizations and related units in the province.
Final of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Fisheries Innovation Competition 2024 (06/11/2024)
On the morning of November 2, 2024, in Vung Tau City, the Department of
Science and Technology organized the Final Round of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau
Fisheries Innovation Competition in 2024. Attending, on the side of the
Organizing Committee, was Mr. Tran Duy Tam Thanh - Standing Deputy Head, Deputy
Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Mr. Tran Thai Son -
Deputy Head, Director of Synergy Development Viet Company Limited.
Eight solution projects entered the final round of the Fisheries Innovation Competition in BR-VT province (05/10/2024)
In order to find and develop technological solutions and innovations
towards enhancing value and solving problems of the fisheries industry of BR-VT
province, September 28, 2024, Department of Science and Technology BR-VT
province organized the semi-finals of the 2024 Fisheries Industry Innovation
Contest.
On September 19, the Department of Science and Technology of Ba Ria - Vung
Tau province organized an Advisory Council to evaluate and accept the results
of implementing the project "Impact of climate change on people's health
in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and proposed solutions to respond ". The
topic was conducted by Associate Professor, PhD. Tran Ngoc Dang is the
chairman. Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy is the presiding
agency. Attending was Mr. Tran Duy Tam Thanh - Deputy Director of the
Department of Science and Technology, chairman of the council.
On August 24, 2024, the Department of Science and Technology organized a
scientific conference "Seeking expert’s opinions on determining the
scale, type, and goals of the Marine Science and Technology Park Project in
Ward 12, Vung City in line with the socio-economic development orientation of
BR-VT province." Attending and co-chairing the conference were Mr. Pham
Quang Nhat - Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Mr. Truong
Thanh Cong - Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of
BR-VT province, along with scientists, leading experts on policy and
investment; science - technology; seaport, logistics; industrial; tourism; oil,
gas and energy,... coming from inside and outside the province; Representatives
of leaders of departments, branches, branches, Vung Tau City People's
Committee, universities and relevant agencies in the province.
On July 10, the Department of
Science and Technology organized a scientific workshop "Collecting expert
opinions on developing a plan to implement the Strategy for Science, Technology
and Innovation Development in Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province to 2030". This is
an important event to create a forum to exchange and contribute opinions on
developing a plan to implement the Strategy for Science, Technology and
Innovation Development (S&I) in Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province to 2030 based on
the contents and tasks in Decision No. 569/QD-TTg dated May 11, 2022 of the
Prime Minister on promulgating the Strategy for Science, Technology and
Innovation Development to 2030.
Based on the results of the Provincial Innovation Index (PII) announced by the Ministry
of Science and Technology in 2023, and helping localities to understand and
propose appropriate solutions to improve the PII to deploy in 2024 and
following years, on July 5, the Department of Science and Technology
coordinated with the Academy of Science, Technology and Innovation under the
Ministry of Science and Technology organizing a Workshop "Current
situation and solutions to improve the Provincial Innovation
Index of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in 2024".
Launching the Aquaculture Innovation Contest in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in 2024 (29/06/2024)
On the morning of June 27, the Department of Science and Technology
organized a conference to launch the 2024 Aquaculture Innovation Contest in Ba Ria - Vung Tau
province with the theme "Green transformation - Innovation to develop
sustainable fisheries industry". Attending the conference were Mr. Tran
Duy Tam Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology -
Chairing the conference, along with representatives of leaders of departments,
branches, experts, associations, and innovative startups in the province.

Following the success of the BR-VT Fisheries Innovation
Contest over 4 years (from 2020 - 2023), the Department of Science and
Technology continues to coordinate with the Directorate of Fisheries and
the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. The province, relevant
units and businesses organize the implementation of "BR-VT Fisheries Innovation Competition 2024".
