Following the direction of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, on the morning of December 16, the Department of Science and Technology of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province held the opening ceremony of the "Techfest Ria - Vung Tau in 2022”.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Pham Quang Nhat - Director of the Department of Science and Technology said: "Promoting startup and innovation activities is a major policy of the Party and State.  Implementing the Government's project to support the national startup ecosystem to 2025, following some initial results of startup support activities in the period 2017-2020, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has issued implementation of the Innovation Startup Support Plan of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in the period of 2021-2025. After nearly 2 years of implementation, the startup ecosystem in the province has made positive development steps. In the period of 2021-2022, heavily influenced by the Covid-19 epidemic, with the business-centric policy, support policies for innovative startups are actively implemented. “The Innovation Startup Festival in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province (Techfest) in 2022” is an opportunity to re-evaluate the results of supporting innovation startups in the past time, raising awareness about startups, creativity, and connecting resources to develop the province's innovative startup ecosystem to create new steps.

The festival aims to raise awareness, promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation, and contribute to improving the startup culture in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. The festival is also an opportunity to honor projects, innovative startups and organizations and individuals that contribute to the development of the startup ecosystem in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. The conference also, attract the attention and support of society, organizations and investors inside and outside the province for startup projects.

The festival is also an opportunity for individuals, businesses and young people to learn about startup stories based on local strengths and needs, typical of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is a place to update the latest useful technology solutions in many fields; meet and share with startups, experts in many fields.
