On December 2, the Department of Science and Technology cooperated with the Sub-Institute of Agricultural Planning and Design to organize a workshop to discuss "Project on application of advanced science and technology in the period of 2022-2026 in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province". Attending and chairing the workshop were Mr. Pham Quang Nhat, Director of Department of Science and Technology, Mr. Nguyen Tan Trung, Deputy Director of the Agricultural Planning and Design Sub-Institute; with the participation of leaders of departments, localities, cooperatives, enterprises and production facilities in the province.

Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Pham Quang Nhat, Director of the Department of Science and Technology said that Over the past time, the application and transfer of science and technology advances have always been considered by the Provincial People's Committee as a key tool to restructure the economy.  The Provincial People's Committee requests Department of Science and Technology and related departments to coordinate with localities in the province to implement many topics, pilot production projects, and application models of science and technology advances, in order to bring science and technology progress into productivity, improving product quality and achieving certain results in all fields. However, besides the achieved results, the application of science and technology in BR-VT province has some issues that need to be improved, such as: The models of applying science and technology advances to production and life are still small, the spread is not high and has not been replicated much, there is no breakthrough application model with strong influence, to the economic development of the locality, etc. To overcome the shortcomings, due to limitations in the application of science and technology transfer, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Science and Technology to develop a project "Project on Application of advanced science and technology in the period of 2022 - 2026 in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province".

The project choosees to perform appropriate S&T tasks, promoting the application of science and technology with focus, increasing access to and deploying modern S&T application solutions of the Second Industrial Revolution, investment, focusing on priority areas and products with strengths of the province in general and localities in particular. Building a series of scientific and technological application tasks that are systematic, breakthrough, influential to the economic development of each locality, focusing on specific objects to create practical effects, contributing to the development of the country. socio-economic of each locality and the whole province.

At the workshop, the delegates focused on discussing and commenting on the draft content of the project. such as: legal bases, feasibility, etc., propose to select models of scientific and technological application that are systematic, breakthrough, influential to the economic development of the locality...
