The objective of the subject is to evaluate the current status of ocean waste pollution in coastal and offshore waters of Con Dao district; building a management and monitoring system for coastal and offshore ocean waste, and model for monitoring and forecasting the movement and generation of ocean waste in Con Dao district;building an offshore ocean waste collection system to reduce the amount of waste reaching the coast of Con Dao district.

Located in the middle of the sea, Con Dao is seriously affected by ocean plastic waste, especially in mangrove forests, coral reefs and rocky beaches. In recent years, the rapid increase in the number of tourists has also caused the significant growth of  plastic waste. In the current situation, the amount of residual waste is very large, raising people's awareness about the environment in general as well as building an ocean waste collection system for the waters of Con Dao district is extremely necessary.

After the subject’s leaders presented their explanations and implementation plans, Council members asked questions, criticized and made comments on the documents.

Based on the comments of the Council members according to each criterion in terms of overview, research contents, research approaches and methods, effectiveness and plans for transferring research results, professional capacity of the organization, individual’s implemention the tasks, implementation time of 02 documents. The Council voted to evaluate and unanimously selected the profile of Mien Dong Innovative Technology University  led by Associate Professor. Dr. Pham Van Song. However, the Council requested the chairperson and the group implementing the topic to edit and update some research contents according to the comments of Council members to complete the documents.
