The newspaper has actively applied digital technology to its professional operations and has been highly effective in utilising social media platforms such as Facebook and TikTok.
During the propaganda campaigns to celebrate major anniversaries in 2024, Nhan Dan Newspaper went beyond delivering extensive news and in-depth content by creating unique and special products to engage readers. Notable examples include the Panorama Supplement on the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the Hanoi Flagpole Mosaic Artwork, both of which were designed to inspire young people to connect with the nation’s history.
Thanks to its innovative communication approach and groundbreaking ideas, Nhan Dan’s campaign commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory recently won gold prize in the category of Excellent Print Media at the 2024 Asian Media Awards held by the World Association of News and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA).
Previously, the Panorama Supplement on the Dien Bien Phu Campaign also earned the Best Product for Young Readersaccolade as part of the 2024 Sustainable Print Innovation and Development Awards by WAN-IFRA.
Highlighting the importance of digital transformation in journalism, Nhan Dan Newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh has repeatedly emphasised that digital transformation in journalism is an irreversible trend. According to him, for a press agency to succeed in digital transformation, it must first transform its mindset, especially that of its leadership.
“If leaders adopt a mindset focused on digital transformation and are committed to its implementation, 60% of the success is already achieved. By spreading this mindset throughout every corner of the newsroom’s operations, digital transformation can be fully realised,” he emphasised.
Minh further noted that modern journalism must evolve to adapt to changes in how readers “consume information”.Nhan Dan Newspaper and press agencies in general must continue to push boundaries, innovate constantly, and fulfiltheir mission effectively, leveraging technological support along the way.
