Under the approval of Ministry of Science and Technology and People’s Committee of Haiphong City,Vietnam Directorate for Standards and Quality (STAMEQ) in colaboration with Vietnam Metrology Association (VINAMET) and Haiphong Science and Technology Department held Vietnam Metrology Day Ceremony (1950/01/20- 2008/01/20) on January 20th, 2008 in Haiphong City.

Attending the Ceremony were Dr. Ngo Quy Viet- STAMEQ’s Director General, Mr. Tran Van Vinh STAMEQ’s Deputy Director General, Mr. Le Tam- Honorary Chairman of VINAMET, Mr. Nguyen Tri Long- Chairman of VINAMET, Director of Science and Technology Departments, representatives of Provicial Branches of Standards, Metrology and Quality of 28 southern provinces, Leaders and officials of Units under STAMEQ. As to Haiphong City were Mr. Hoang Van Ke- Vice Chairman of People’s Committee, Mr. Bui Thanh Tung- Director of Science and Technology Department, representatives from Branches, businesses and presss agencies.

At the Ceremomy, STAMEQ’s Director General Ngo Quy Viet reported outstanding achievements of 2007 on measurement and metrology management, at the same time raised main tasks for Metrology Branch in 2008 and development and integration orientations on measurement in the next time.
