On 11 July, Vung Tau City’s Committee of the Party held the Conference of the twelfth Party Committee (opening) with the contents: ratify a performance report contract of the first 6 months of 2008, propose tasks and direction of the last 6 months of 2008; through the Resolution draft and action plan to perform the Party Committee’s Resolution on socioeconomic development of Vung Tau City towards 2015.
According to the report, in the first six months of 2008, the social, economic, culture and situation in the province developed stably; turnover of Vung Tau City’s economic branches was estimated VND9,600billion in performance, increased by 20% as compared with the same period of last year, achieved 50.52% of the year plan.
The cultural and social activities completed the proposed assignment. Security, national defense are ensured, political security, social order and security are kept closely and stable.
Building the Party is being appreciated; attached to the campaign “Study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals”; the Conference also works out shortcomings, restriction such as delayed projects investing to resorts, processing infrastructure, aquaculture.
At the conference, the delegates discussed, passed the action plan to perform the Party Committee’s Resolution on socioeconomic development of Vung Tau City towards 2015.
Accordingly, the general target is to keep hold high and stable economic growth, drive Vung Tau City’s economics to the more important position in the economic development of the entire province which is a general development mover for Ba Ria – Vung Tau; take the initiative and well prepare for the process of international economic integration; improve urban technical infrastructure to a modern style with every passing day; build Vung Tau to be a beautiful, clean, civilized, safety, friendly city, a destination of tourism and investment attraction; enhance people"s material and spiritual life; strive for development of Vung Tau City to become a the first grade city before the year 2015.
