First domestic company joins Data Center Alliance

VietNamNet Bridge - CMC Telecommunication Services Corporation (CMC Telecom) and three leading regional telecom and IT services providers today officially announced the formation of the Data Center Alliance (DCA) followed by the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between the DCA and Intel to accelerate Green Data Center deployments in the region.

VietNamNet Bridge - CMC Telecommunication Services Corporation (CMC Telecom) and three leading regional telecom and IT services providers today officially announced the formation of the Data Center Alliance (DCA) followed by the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between the DCA and Intel to accelerate Green Data Center deployments in the region.

The three other regional founders of DCA include 1-Net Singapore from Singapore, the AIMS Asia Group from Malaysia and T.C.C Technology from Thailand, marking the milestones of forming the Regional Data Center in the region.
Thus, CMC Telecom is the first telecom company in
Vietnam to have founded the DCA and this is the first step of CMC Telecom’s strategy to expand its business to international market.
“The
Alliance expands each member’s influence in the data centre services market of south-east Asia,” said Pham Anh Chien, Chief Executive Officer of CMC Telecom. “It also will increase customer satisfaction through cross-border interconnected data centers, exchanged technologies and quality of services,” said Chien.

On this occasion, the DCA is officially announced in
Vietnam, which has a combined space of more than 45,000 m2 and a projected annual turnover of US$77 million by 2009. The alliance will become one of the biggest data centre operators in the region catered for first-tier telcos, government agencies, banks and other businesses.
One of the key objectives of the DCA is to develop Green Data Centers by applying modest energy saving technologies as the contribution for reducing the greenhouse effect and global warming.
Intel was selected by the DCA due to its silicon technology leadership and the breadth of its experience in data centre solutions. Intel shall advise and co-operate with the DCA in applying green/energy-efficient solutions that analyse and optimise the energy usage of transformers, UPS, Air-Conditioner and memory.

On the occasion, CMC Telecom officially launched its first international standard
Data Center with brand name BlueData® in Hanoi the same day.
With objectives to become the number one carrier-neutral Data Center services provider in Vietnam ranking alongside providers in the region and the world, CMC Telecom has been building international-standard Data Centers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to meet the highest requirements of customers in financial, banking, insurance sectors; of multi-national corporations; and of foreign companies whose offices are in Vietnam. The newly launched
Data Center in Hanoi is the first among the network of CMC Telecom’s Data Centers in Vietnam.
