Teachers, educators and leading physics experts in the world have also arrived to witness the important event. These include Viet Kieu experts, the world’s big names in physics, like Prof Dr Tran Thanh Van from Paris University, Prof Truong Nguyen Tran from Paris Polytechnical University, Dr Nguyen Thi Que Huong from Marshall University, the US, Dr Phan Le Kim from the Netherlands’ Twente University, Dr Dam Thanh Son from Washington University, Seatle, the US.

According to Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Education and Training Banh Tien Long, the 2008 IPhO will be the largest event in terms of number of participating nations.

Vietnam has invited Prof Friedman, Physics Nobel Laureate in 1990 to come to Vietnam to have talk with competitors and scientists. He plans to have a presentation on July 25 evening about nuclear physics.

Vietnam’s competition team includes five members:

1. Do Hoang Anh, 12th grade physics major at the Hanoi National University of Natural Sciences. Anh is the member of the Vietnam’s competition team for the fourth time. He won silver medal at the 38th IPhO and two golden medals at the 2008 Asian Physics Olympiad.

2. Nguyen Tat Nghia, student at Phan Boi Chau Gifted School in the central province of Nghe An. He won gold medals at the 38th IPhO and a gold medal at the Asian Physics Olympiad

3. Nguyen Duc Minh, student of the Hanoi – Amsterdam Gifted School. He won a silver medal at the 2008 Asian Physics Olympiad

4. Huynh Nhu Toan, student at Le Quy Don Gifted School in Da Nang city. He won the first prize when he was in 11th class, and second prize when he was a 12th class student, and won a silver medal at the Asian Physics Olympiad

5. Tran Anh Vu from Dao Duy Tu People Founded School in Hanoi, He won the third prize when he was in 11th class, and second prize when he was in 12th class
