Three Vietnamese and foreign partners in crude oil exploration and production Friday began official operations on their newly-discovered field offshore from a southern province in Vietnam.
The Ca Ngu Vang (Golden Tuna) Oil Field, in Block 9-2 in the
Mekong Basin, some 140 km offshore Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, pumped its first oil flow last Friday.
The UK-based exploration and production firm SOCO Vietnam, PetroVietnam and Thai-based PTTEP Hoan-Vu, joined together to explore the field which expects to produce between 10,000 and 20,000 barrels of oil per day and 25-50 million cubic feet of wet gas per day for the next 20 years.
