First Dragon Capital Vietnam Chess Open finishes

The 1st Dragon Capital Vietnam Chess Open came to an end on September 1 after six days of competitions. Taking part were 42 chess players from Australia, Myanmar, Singapore, Philippines, Georgia, Uzbekistan and host country Vietnam.

The 1st Dragon Capital Vietnam Chess Open came to an end on September 1 after six days of competitions. Taking part were 42 chess players from Australia, Myanmar, Singapore, Philippines, Georgia, Uzbekistan and host country Vietnam.
In the women’s contests, the organising board awarded first prizes to two Vietnamese chess players, Le Kieu Thien Kim and Pham Thi Ngoc Tu. Third prizes were given to Nguyen Thi Mai Hung and Nguyen Quynh Anh.
The first prize in the men’s contest went to Vietnamese chess player Le Quang Liem. The second prizes were won by Zurab Azmaiparashvili from Georgia and Wesley So from the
Philippines.
The event was co-organised by the World Chess Federation (FIDE), the Vietnamese Chess Federation (VCF) and the Ba Ria-Vung Tau provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
