Morning of September 15, (16 August, Lunar Calender), Thang Tam communal House, Vung Tau city opened Nghing Ong Festival with thousands participations inside, outside province and foreigners.
From 6 a.m, Nghinh Ong troupe consisted of old men, military aides…getting on a big junk (decorated by flowers, flags, altar and five-notes musical troupe, gongs, drums, lion dance group) from Front Beach to Mieu Ba (Ba chapel) (Nghinh Phong cape area) to thurify, and offer.
Nghinh Ong festival is the occasion for fishers pray for safe and sound when going to the sea, catching many fishes… prosperous well-being life, happiness ; simultaneity it is also the occasion for people to return favour…”
The festival lasted till end of 17 September (18 August, Lunar Calendar).
