Yesterday, October 06, the provincial People’s Committee held the conference “Protection of Petroleum Safety – Security” which presided over by Mr. Tran Ngoc Thoi -Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

Since the early of this year, number of petroleum safety, security violations has reduced by 50% as compared with the same period of last year, most of cases were discovered, settled promptly. 
However, there are some recidivous cases such as using explosive, potential pulse of fishers to catch seafood in petroleum safety areas, this causes to human ecology – environment on sea, threat directly to safety for offshore petroleum activities and projects. To onshore projects, there are still popular violations such as sabotage of anti-corrosion equipment, transgress barrier of gas pipeline…
These violations can cause explode, threat life, assets of people and human ecology – environment. Addressing at the conference, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Ngoc Thoi requested appropriate authorities, military and police forces, petroleum companies to coordinate communication - information, apply forms of propaganda to enhance people’s consciousness on national interests to petroleum activities; catastrophes of human ecology – environment if there is any failure of petroleum activities safety – security.
Promptly encouragement, commendation and reward for people who positively take part in protection of petroleum safety and security, at the same time strictly treat behaviour of violation.

Request the People’s Committees of districts Long Dien, Tan Thanh and Ba Ria town where have onshore petroleum projects got through to actively carry out solutions in order to ensure petroleum safety and security, this task is entered into the annual plan and showed on periodical socioeconomic reports and year-end summary reports.
