Vung Tau City to be the first level urban center directly under the province by 2015

Morning of September 24, Mr. Tran Minh Sanh – Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee presided over the meeting on social – economic development plan of Vung Tau city up to 2015 and afterwards.

Accordingly, in Phase 1, from now on to 2015, Vung Tau city will maintain the annual economic growth at 13.5%. In which, average growth of services shall be at 14%; industry – small scale industry at 15.5%; seafood at 6%.
Phase II, from year 2015 to 2020, economic growth rate will further increase than Phase 1 with annual average growth rate by 14%.
In which, average growth of services will be at 15%; industry – small scale industry at 18% and seafood at 4.8%.
With regard to the planning adjustment, from now to 2010, the People’s Committee of Vung Tau city must complete urban design research and architectural management regulation; concentrate to design key routes, rearrange planning and improve the existing residential areas; propose administrative centre construction projects of Vung Tau city to connect with squares, theatres, sport – culture centers… and series of projects concerning infrastructures of transport, environment, tourism management… shall be deployed to complete by 2015; simultaneously intensify cultural, educational, medical activities …to put forth Vung Tau City to be the first level urban center directly under the province by 2015.
Addressing at the meeting, Mr. Tran Minh Sanh conducted the Vung Tau People’s Committee to concentrate on deployment of economic - social development project.
 
Among them, especially pay attention to the scheme of seafood processing areas’ and shipbuilding areas to ensure environment. Mr. Tran Minh Sanh entrusted for The Department of Natural Resources and Environment to preside over assessment of the waste treatment factory in Vung Tau city; he also entrusted for the Department of Construction to research and consult for The Provincial People’s Committee’s advises about the Airport Moving to Go Gang area solution.
