Morning of October 09, at Palace Hotel, the Organization Board of the World Youth Chess Championships 2008 held the 3rd press conference with the attendance of representatives of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam; Vietnam Chess Federation; Worth Chess Federation; leaders of authorities, departments, branches in the province; Consulate Generals of Australia, Philippines, Indonesia, and 60 reporters from 27 news agencies nationwide.

The World Youth Chess Championships 2008 takes place from 19 to 31 October 2008 at the Sport Event Hall of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province. This is the event of international stature with the participation of 80 countries and regions all over the world, in which many powerful countries at Chess like India, Russia, USA, China…The host delegation – Vietnam – has 95 competitors.
At the press conference, the Organization Board advised the time of opening and closing ceremonies, venue, main program activities, preparation of facilities and equipment to serve the prize until now, publicly announce the official logo, regulations, manner, list of teams to participating countries, list of 16 hotels for the prize, address of the official website as well as mobilization work for sponsor of the championships.
The World Youth Chess Championships 2008 consists of 3 main programs: the Opening Ceremony takes place at 20h30 on 19 October 2008 at the Sport Event Hall of the province, telecast live on VTV1 channel of Vietnam Television and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Broadcast - Television Station.
In the Opening Ceremony, apart from special acts of art, there are the participation of ex-Mrs World, ex-Miss Vietnam and models of Vietnam. A firework occurs right at the Paradise Resort after the Opening Ceremony.
The night of artistic culture “Ba Ria Vung Tau – Vietnam – my fatherland” takes place at 20h, 25 October 2008, and will be come live on VTV9 channel of Vietnam Television – Ba Ria Vung Tau Broadcast - Television Station. The night of culture is to popularize to international friends about the image, people, culture of Vietnam and economic potentialities of Ba Ria – Vung Tau in particular and Vietnam in general; simultaneously to take this chance to introduce, spread the Mrs. World 2009 which shall be organized on November 2009.
The ceremony of prize award and closing is at 20h, 30 October 2008 at the provincial Sport Event Hall, and shall be come live on VTV2 channel of Vietnam Television – Ba Ria Vung Tau Broadcast - Television Station.
Besides, there are many activities to response for the championships such as the Trade Fair of Tourism – Culture, and other artistic and cultural activities At the press conference, the Organization Board answered all questions concerning the Championships of the reporters: numbers of competitors of Vietnam team, objective of the team at the Prize, fees of participation, awards for competitors, etc…..
