According to the organizers, 133 companies from Vietnam, South Korea, and Thailand registered to open 165 stalls at the Techmart Can Tho.

Held by the Ministry of Science, HCM City People’s Committee and Technology, and the Can Tho Municipal People’s Committee, the event aims to promote technology transfer, the combination between research, development, education-training with production and business, and bring choices of technology to businesses and farmers in the Mekong Delta.

Phan Minh Tan, Director of the HCM City Department of Science and Technology, said the department surveyed the real need of farmers in southwestern provinces to introduce the most appropriate technology and equipment at the upcoming fair.

Major activities at Techmart Can Tho 2008 would be exhibition and offers for sale of technology and equipment and new products. Such offers include seven IT firms that will introduce software solutions and websites that are helpful for farmers, as well as three workshops and a meeting between farmers and young scientists.
