HCM City: International industrial and agricultural expos open

VietNamNet Bridge – EPM Vietnam 2008, a machinery and industrial equipment exhibition, opened its doors at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) and the Phu My Hung urban area on Oct. 30.

Co-organised by the Vinexad Co., Yorkers Trade, Service & Marketing Co., Germany’s Planetfair and Hannover-Messe international GmbH companies, the expo attracted the participation of more than 130 local firms as well as a substantial international presence.
EPM 2008, specialising in tool machinery, energy, power, environmental protection and the water industry, features over 250 stalls showcasing the latest in mechanical processing and manufacturing equipment, state-of-the-art electrical technology, new energy products and environmental protection and water treatment equipment.
A host of industry-specific seminars and exchange activities will be held during the course of the event to help domestic and foreign enterprises seek new partners, fresh markets and to sign economic contracts.

The exhibition will run until Nov. 2.
On the same day, the Vietnam International Agricultural Fair (AgroViet 2008) also kicked off in the city.
The fair attracted almost 500 local and foreign enterprises, with stalls showcasing agro-fishery-forestry products, handicrafts and manufacturing equipment using in the production of farm and rural products for export.
It also aims to help handicraft enterprises and both domestic and foreign handicraft villages to find opportunities for cooperation, expand their markets and develop their brands.

A series of seminars on food safety, plus consultancy sessions addressing scientific and technical farming issues will also be held during the event, which runs until Nov. 4.
