Senator Iwao Matsuda, vice chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Association, has expressed his desire to increase cooperation in the transfer of technology to Vietnam in the coming years.
While meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai in Hanoi on December 9, Mr Matsuda, who is former Japanese Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy, said that Japan is willing to assist Vietnam in the development of its fledging cosmological sector.
He briefed his host on the results of a meeting on cooperation in the transfer of technology between Japan and Vietnam, which took place in Hanoi the same day.
For his part, Deputy PM Hai praised Japan’s support for a bilateral cooperation programme on space science and technology development. He said such a programme is necessary for Vietnam to effectively develop the requisite support technology.
