Ba Ria Vung Tau ranks the second in the country in attracting FDI

According to the Foreign Investment Department of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnam has attracted USD 64 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2008, a nearly 3 fold compared last year.

In 2008, about 50 countries and territories registed to invest in Viet Nam, among that, there are 11 countries and territories registed capital of over USD 1 billion.
Malaysia ranks the first with projects with registed capital of USD 14.9 billion, next to Taiwan has 132 projects with registed capital of USD 8.64 billion, Japan has 105 projects with registed capital of USD 7.28 billion.
Ba Ria Vung Tau attatracted more than 15.5 % total of investment, with 4 projects worth USD 9.35 billion of registed capital, ranks the second in the country in attracting FDI.
