In common with exploitation and operation of projects effectively, Vietnam Petroleum Corporation (PetroVietnam) have been promoting internationally joint venture, association and cooperation to increase production of oil and gas products to serve industrial development and meet demands of living in the country.

In 2008, the national and world economy has many changes, affects production and business of many fields and sectors. However, PetroVietnam Gas Corp (PV Gas) made efforts to complete exceedingly the plan of year 2008 with turnover of VND23,490 billion, equivalent with 125% of the year plan; profit after tax was more than VND2,698 billion, made up 131% of the year plan; contributed to the State budget VND3,960billion, made up 256% of the year plan. For production, PVGas provided the market nearly 7 billion m3 dry gas, reached 100% of the year plan and increased by 15% compared with the previous year; production and import to supply 474,000 tons of LPG, accounting for more than 50% market share nationwide, made up 139% of the year plan and raised 53% as compared with 2007; provided 72,000 tons of condensate (light gas), reached 120% if the plan.

In business production, PVGas always concerns safety works, try to prevent incidents affecting people and assets. In the year, it completed the project of fire fighting and preventing for the Ca Mau, Dong Nai, Chelsea Bridge gas projects, held maneuver for the Ca Mau Gas project; received a certificate of safety calibration for pipelines Rang Dong – Bach Ho (White Tiger), Long Hai – Bach Ho; received certificate of safety – fire fighting and preventing, order and security for the gas projects in Vung Tau and Ca Mau ...

With the aims of importing gas to supplement the shortage in the country from 2013, in 2008, PV Gas has promoted and expanded international cooperation in the field of oil and gas production and business, the works relating to this issue have been deployed synchronously.
