On the 22nd of December 2008, the Provincial Science Council presided at by Mr. Vo Thanh Ky – Vice President of the Provincial People’s Committee – has organized a conference to check and take over the project: “Development planning Science and Technology of Baria-Vungtau Province to 2015 and vision to 2020”. The project has been presided over by Prof. Dr. Dang Ngoc Dinh – Vietnam Institute of Development Studies (VIDS)
On the 22nd of December 2008, the Provincial Science Council presided at by Mr. Vo Thanh Ky – Vice President of the Provincial People’s Committee – has organized a conference to check and take over the project: “Development planning Science and Technology of Baria-Vungtau Province to 2015 and vision to 2020”. The project has been presided over by Prof. Dr. Dang Ngoc Dinh – Vietnam Institute of Development Studies (VIDS)
The targets of the project have been intended for putting forward development steps of the provincial science and technology by stages (2010 – 2015 – 2020) such as: estimating the activities of the provincial science and technology for the past time, specifying the objectives and solutions in order to use science and technology in the process of socio-economic development, from there constructing the development plan of the provincial science and technology branch in the national strategy of science and technology development and in the general socio-economic development of the locality.
After almost 2 years, the group that carried out the project has had some results such as: proposing the scientific bases as well as legal bases in the construction of Baria-Vungtau development planning, at the same time offering the evaluation of real situation of the provincial science and technology; some opinions and objects of science and technology development in Baria-Vungtau to 2015, and vision to 2020; putting forward some resolutions of implementation and priority programs and projects for the provincial science and technology development to 2015, and bringing the orientations for an amendment the general socio-economic planning of Baria-Vungtau in the next stage.
The members of the Council have contributed many opinions for planning as well as points in arrears of the project such as: the comparison of Baria-Vungtau’s strong points in the process of development, the position of science and technology in the developing process in order to the investment of science and technology getting the effect, the socialized role of science and technology…
