On the day of March 19th 2009, the Provincial Science Council has organized a conference in order to inspection test the theme: “Researching to design a model of Cannon and reconstruct the ceremony of firing cannons in Baria-Vungtau Province” which has been presided over by Colonel – Dr. Vo Quang Hung (Southern Base of Weapon Institute – General Department of Defence Technology) and Dr. Dinh Van Hanh.
The target of the theme is a historical study of forming, developing and using cannons in the nation in general and the province in particular; researching and manufacturing Cannon for the provincial characteristics; at the same time setting up scientific bases and practically restoring, reappearing the ceremony of traditional firing cannons, building an proprietary product in order to serve the provincial tourism.
The Acceptance Council has appraised that the theme achieved the targets of the theme and has a great significance of social and technical science. The theme has been graded excellent.
