The Center for Application of Advanced Science and Technology, combining with technical experts from Institute of Geophysics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology have carried out the site survey measurements of necessary parameters for designing lightning protection systems. And the process of installation and testing is now in progress. 58 households from Dat Do district and 42 - from Xuyen Moc, have been fitted up with free lightning protection system. The total project cost is about 1.1 billion VND from the scientific budget.

The project is expected to be fulfiled at the end of May, 2009 and thus provide free lightning protection system for 100 households of these two districts. It is also considered to be a result of transferring achievements from the theme “Thunderstorm research and lightning protection in Baria-Vungtau Province” to pratical application by the Department of Science and technology of Baria-Vungtau Province and Institute of Geophysics.
