Nhan Dan – Vietnam’s first international deep-water port for container ships SP-PSA was officially put into operation in Tan Thanh district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on May 29.

Nhan Dan – Vietnam’s first international deep-water port for container ships SP-PSA was officially put into operation in Tan Thanh district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on May 29.

This port is a joint venture between Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines), Saigon Port and PSA Vietnam, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore' + char(39)+ N's port operator PSA International.

The port is located near the mouth of the Cai Mep-Thi Vai river on a total area of 54 hectares and it can receive 80,000 DWT ships. SP-PSA international port received the first container vessel APL Alexandrite with a capacity of 60,000 DWT on its first day in operation.

The second phase of the project will kick start with an investment to raise the capacity of SP-PSA international port to over 2 million TEUs a year.
