Six software solutions received the "Best IT Solutions" Cup and 33 information and communications technology services and products won "Best ICT Products" awards given away by PC World Viet Nam magazine at a ceremony on Wednesday.
While the awards reaffirmed users’ confidence in Vietnamese software solutions, there was an increase in the number of votes polled by foreign products, particularly in enterprise resource planning, (ERP), and CRM (Customer Relationship Management).
It was especially true of the ERP, in which foreign vendors got 40 per cent of the votes.
Foreign CRM solutions received 20.69 per cent of the vote. Domestic vendors dominated the enterprise accounting (90 per cent of the votes) and electronic office (75 per cent) categories.
MISA SME, accounting software from MISA Joint Stock Co, won its fifth BIT Cup in six years. The company also won the Cup for Best CRM.
In a new software category, electronic office, eOffice, a software made by the Ha Noi Polytechnic’s Centre for Internet Security, or BKIS, polled 88 per cent of the votes for its capacity to authorise and certify documents.
The prize for champion e-commerce website went to www.chodientu.vn, while www.vietnamworks.com retained its top position in the Recruitment & Works category.
Thirty-three ICT products and services, divided into five categories – office equipment, business equipment, home and mobile products, computer components and services – received awards.
Cooler Master, Kaspersky and Aptech Viet
The notebook/laptop category saw a change at the top with HP being the winner this year. iPhone won the title of best smartphone/PDA, and Phong Vu company tasted glory in retail services.
Otherwise, this year’s results show no dramatic changes as the 27 winners of last year remained on top.
Only Dell, in the categories of desktop computer, server and notebook/laptop, made a sharp move up.
The smartphone/PDA category attracted plenty of interest, as readers pushed HTC up to second place and O2 out of the top three.
The MP3/MP4 player saw the rise of Sony and the first appearance of Samsung at the top.
