The “Internet city” project will be finalised in June 2011 in the HCM City Hi-tech Park, reported the park’s management board.

This work is being built at a cost of 1.03 trillion dong, equivalent to US$60.5 million. This is a 15-storey building with an underground car park, a zone for offices, trade centres, exhibition rooms and other facilities. Its total area is nearly 34,800sq.m.

HCM City Hi-tech Park’s director Le Thai Hy said that the Internet city is the largest commercial project in the park. He hopes this project can help attract more investment from the digital content industry into the park, particularly from chipset and semi-conductor designers.

The HCM City Hi-tech Park had 8500 workers by the end of July 2009, 38 projects totalling more than $1.7 billion of registered capital. Thirteen projects have been operating, earning export revenue of $90 million in the first half of 2009.
