The Vietnamese Minister of Science and Technology received IAEA IRRS team
The October 9, 2009, at the headquarter of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the Minister Hoang Van Phong received the IAEA Integrated Regulator Review Service (IRRS) team during the framework of the IRRS mission in Vietnam from September 27 to October 9, 2009.

The Minister highly appreciated the support of IAEA for Vietnam and specially the significant result of this mission for improving Varans regulatory infrastructure as well as for Vietnam Nuclear Power Plant project for the first time. The Minister affirmed that MOST coordinated with the relevant ministries, agencies and always reserve the best conditions to the agencies under MOST in development of use of atomic energy for the peaceful purpose. He also expressed sincere thanks to the IRRS team members for their enthusiasm and effort, and he expect further cooperation between IAEA and the Vietnam ministries, agencies; IAEA and VARANS
On behalf of IRRS team members, Mr Jonh Kinnerman – Director of Division of Nuclear Materials Safety, from the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, IRRS Team Leader in Vietnam – expressed his thanks for his warm receipt and reported the IRRS mission result after the last two weeks.
The success of this IRRS mission is significant for not only Vietnam, IAEA but also the global nuclear regime.
