Contest recognises IT, scientific talents

The fifth Viet Nam Talent Contest 2009 took place on November 20 in the capital city to honour Vietnamese talent in the fields of the information technology and natural science.

The fifth Viet Nam Talent Contest 2009 took place on November 20 in the capital city to honour Vietnamese talent in the fields of the information technology and natural science.

At the ceremony, the Chairman of the Viet Nam Post and Telecommunications Group, Pham Long Tran, said that he was glad to witness the growth of the Viet Nam Talent Contest over recent years.

This year’s contest was the most successful with the entry of a record 225 products. Entries were highly regarded for their applicability and real-life relevance.

This year’s highly qualified contestants were recognised for their knowledge and innovation in the areas of healthcare information, software, and digital mapping skills for cell phones and cars.

The information technology prizes were totally valued at VND185 million and three prize winners in natural science, including mathematics, bio-technology and environmental science will each receive VND100 million.

The contest is annually conducted by the Viet Nam Education Promotion Association in
co-ordination with the ministries of Information and Communications, Education and Training, and Science and Technology.
