On October 2nd, The Center of Informatics and Scientific and Technological Information (CISTI BR-VT) in collaboration with the Science and Technology Department of Ho Chi Minh City organized a seminar of infringements of Intellectual Property Rights. The representatives of departments, enterprises in the provincial area attended the seminar.

Mrs. Hoang To Nhu (a specialist of The Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City) has communicated to the representatives some of main contents such as: the role of intellectual property rights (IPR) in business development, kinds of intellectual property, identifying objects of IPR, the criteria for evaluating famous trademarks, the use and exploitation of intellectual property... In addition, participants were also introduced to the provisions of the State confronted with manifestations of IPR violations and handling measures, administrative sanctions and penalties for acts of infringing on trademarks, geographical instructions, trade names… as well as legal procedures in order to sue for infringing IPR.

The participants in the seminar exchanged to lecturer some questions as well as difficulties in the registration of trademarks, how to self-protect their brands, protecting creative ideas of their units before their competitors ... commonly happening in business processes.
