On 18 February (5 Lunar January of the Tiger New Year), at Kim Long commune, Chau Duc district, the Binh Gia Cannon Festival took place with the with the theme Resonance of Proud Song. This is one of the main events in the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Culture - Tourism program 2010. The program is to orient the Great Festival Day of 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Ha Noi; 45th anniversary of Binh Gia Victory (1965-2010); at the same time introduce and promote the image of Chau Duc district, a land which is rich in economic potential , tourism and revolutionary tradition.

This is the first time, which the Culture - Tourism Festival program held with the ritual of cannon shooting combining with art programs in Chau Duc district.

Before the opening ceremony, the leaders of the province, Chau Duc district, senior staff, and veterans joining in Binh Gia campaign incensed in front of the Binh Gia victory monument in memory of gratitude to heroes, martyrs. At 20:00pm, the program officially opened.

After the opening ritual of the festival, Mr. Vo Thanh Minh - Chairman of Chau Duc district People"s Committee - announced the investment projects of the district in 2010, beat a drum-call to open the festival, and lightened the center traditional torch and 16 torches representing the 16 administrative divisions of Chau Duc district.

At 20:25pm, three cannon opened the first explosion in the resounding music, drum of the battle spirit. Then, the Resonance of Proud Song continued the program. Opening was the Southern Air in the progress of attack waves of Dong Khoi Movement in the South (1959-1960); the images of the revolt to destroy the strategic hamlets of Ba Ria-Vung Tau civilian forces and people. Followed by songs, lively scenes of the road to the campaign, Binh Gia victory’s great scene, Binh Gia campaign scene…

Colonel Tran Nam Hung, former battalion chief of the Battalion 1, Q761, who participated in the Binh Gia campaign, exchanged with audiences, expressed his pride with companion in arm contributed to the Binh Gia victory and the overall victory of the anti-American resistance war for national salvation.

Immediately after the exchange with Colonel Tran Nam Hung was a fire opening ritual of the 2nd series with three shots. Next, from 21:00 to 22:00pm, audiences continued to enjoy the arts performance with theme of Chau Duc’s pride with songs praising the country, spring and Chau Duc performed by singers, singer groups from Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria-Vung Tau... Intermingled with the program was the 3rd series of three cannon shots and the end of fireworks art.
