The 7th international competition and exhibition on young scientific and technological creativeness will take place in Hanoi in late 2010.

The organizers stated that the event will be held in late 2010 in celebration of Hanoi’s 1000th anniversary (October 2010). Around 30-40 countries will participate.

Competitors ages 6-19 will take part in contests to design software, teaching equipment, toys and entertainment, environmental protection and energy saving products.

The first competition/exhibition of this kind was held in Japan in 2004, attracting 43 countries, and has since become an annual event.

Vietnamese students have performed well at these events. Le Trong Hieu won a special prize for his paper-case-life preserver at the Taiwan competition in 2008. Student Trinh Van Duc’s corn sheller won a special prize in 2006 at the South Korea event while Le Trung Anh’s pesticide sprayer took a bronze medal in 2007.
