Construction of a 25km ethane gas pipeline

In the morning of 25 March, the Ba Ria – Vung Tau People"s Committee had a meeting with PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PVGas) on building a 25 km- long ethane gas pipeline from the Dinh Co Gas Processing Plant to the LongSon Petrochemical complex (Long Son commune, Vung Tau City). Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Minh Sanh presided over the working session.

In the morning of 25 March, the Ba Ria – Vung Tau People"s Committee had a meeting with PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PVGas) on building a 25 km- long ethane gas pipeline from the Dinh Co Gas Processing Plant to the LongSon Petrochemical complex (Long Son commune, Vung Tau City). Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Minh Sanh presided over the working session.

At the meeting, PVGAS representatives presented the ethane separation project at the Dinh Co Gas Processing Plant, including conversion, installation of additional equipment in Dinh Co Gas Processing Plant to separate ethane; construction of ethane gas pipeline. PVGAS kindly requested the provincial People’s Committee to review, approve the plan of ethane gas pipeline construction; Direct the relevant agencies to guide, coordinate and assist PVGAS in compensation work for site clearance to fabricate the pipeline.

Addressing at the meeting, Mr. Tran Minh Sanh requested PVGAS to make and submit a report to the provincial People’s Committee; assign the Department of Construction in coordination with the Department of Transport, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the People’s Committee of Tan Thanh district, the People"s Committee of Vung Tau City to survey the actual location that the pipeline passes through and report to the provincial People’s Committee. Thereby, the provincial People’s Committee and departments, agencies shall carry out the procedures for land acquisition, site clearance. Finance of compensation shall be born and settled by PVGAS in October 2010.

The pipeline is scheduled to invest, construct in 4 years (2010-2014) and operate in 14 years (2014-2028).
