The Vietnam Food Association is flexibly adjusting the rice prices to encourage businesses to sell stocked rice and make room for the summer-autumn rice .
Mr. Pham Van Bay, Vice chairman of the association, said that businesses signed a number of contracts in April to export another 700,000 tonnes of rice, raising the total rice exports to four million tones, more than 1.9 million tonnes of which have been delivered, earning US$932 million. The remaining of over 2 million tones will be shipped in the second quarter of the year.
