Not enough clean water to supply for rural’s demand

According to report of Centre for Rural Water Supply and Environment Sanitation, till the end of March 2010, about 24,519 households in Rural area have installed water- meters for using tapping water (38.4%). Total length of water pipe in rural area area about 897,015 meters, so about 42% rural people can use clean water (26,584 households). But, people in Cu Bi commune (Chau Duc district) and Tan Lam commune (Xuyen Moc district) have not been used clean water.

As known, at that time, total capital of water plants are not enough clean water to supply for rural’s demand. Total capital of clean water supply plants are 17,900 cubic meters but demand of the households who had water-meters in rural are about 22,000 cubic meters per day.

As planned, till 2010, the demand of 70% households in rural area is about 52,493 cubic meters per day, compared with the supply current, the water lack about 34,593 cubic meters.
