Thousands of local people and tourists are gathering at the 2010 World Food Festival which officially opened in Vung Tau City in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on July 21. 500 different dishes are displayed on a 3-km session of Thuy Van Street under the banners “Taste the World”. Artists from 31 countries and 31 Vietnamese cities and provinces will perform more than 350 pieces of traditional music, dance and theatre.

Artists from 31 countries and 31 Vietnamese cities and provinces will perform more than 350 pieces of traditional music, dance and theatre.
During the festival the cuisine of Vietnam and many other countries around the world will be available as well as a presentation by the world famous cook Martin Yan, talks on cuisine, a beer and wine festival and a selection of folk games.
Also on hand were Professor Tran Van Khe, kitchen god Martin Yan-Yan Can Cook and 3,500 domestic and foreign cooks and artists.
Tran Minh Sanh, chairman of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau provincial People’s Committee and head of the organising board, said that the event aims to introduce the province as a friendly and attractive destination to visit in the lead-up to the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
