According to People’s Committee of Vung Tau city, the city has 85 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects and 72 domestic projects which have been created licences with total registed capital of USD 7.86 billion and VND 24,500 billion.

However, till now, the projects have disbursed about only USD 263 million, accounting for 3.4% of total registed capital, domestic capital has disbursed only 10.5%.

Vung Tau city’s leaders said that, issuing permits for investors, didn’t mean they would go ahead, and many had stagnated or were developing inefffectively, this had prompted a warning that licences would be withdrawn if action was not taken.
