On 20^th, Aug., Department of Science & Technology of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province in conjunction with Vietnam National Office for Intellectual Property (NOIP’s Representative in Ho Chi Minh City) held the training course: “Protect Intellectual Property towards local specialities”. To participate this course there were more than 100 trainees who were representatives of Intellectual Property Offices, Farmers’ Union of districts, towns and the city.

Content of the training course included three parts:

Part 1: Forms to protect Intellectual Property towards local specialities. Such protection is implemented under 3 main forms: Geographic instruction, registered trademark and team trademark.

Part 2: Procedures, forms to register Intellectual Property Right towards local specialities, including: Procedures, regulations, forms to register application towards agricultural products for geographic instruction, certification mark , collective trade mark .

Part 3: Manage and use Intellectual Property Right towards local specialities, including: Regulations in managing agricultural products marked with geographic instruction, certification mark and collective trade mark.
