On September 19, at Quay 914, Con Son Bay, People’s Committee of Con Dao district held the construction ceremony of Con Dao passenger port. The construction is expected to complete in 2012.

Mr.Nguyen Tuan Minh, Member of Central Party Committee, Provincial Secretary; Mr.Tran Minh Sanh, Provincial Deputy Secretary, Provincial Chairman; Mr.Vo Thanh Ky, Provincial Deputy Chairman and representatives of province attended.

The project covers on an area of 2.56 ha, with items: the pier with 370 meters in length and the main mooring with 50 meters in length, can receive 2 ships at the same time; the passenger station and auxiliary constructions… The project worths over VND 81 billion, with Ben Dam port Project Management Board is investor.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr.Tran Minh Sanh pressed that, the construction of Con Dao passenger port is an important implication in developing tourism, marine service, passenger transport, to promote economic-social development of Con Dao district in particular, Ba Ria- Vung Tau province in general.
