By 2015, Việt Nam will transfer and apply at least 900 technological and technical advances in hi-tech agriculture, industrial scale husbandry, and IT application in agriculture and the development of rural and mountainous areas, and islands.
According to the national program on assisting application and transfer of technological and technical advances for socio-economic development in rural and mountainous areas in 2011-2015 recently approved by the PM, technology transfer and application projects will be aimed at raising rice output, developing hi-tech agriculture and industrial-scale husbandry, promoting agricultural mechanization.
The program will train at least 1,000 managerial cadres, 1,800 technical cadres and 40,000 farmers in localities to raise their capacity of managing and implementing projects.
The program will also assist the establishment of 60 small- and medium-sized enterprises that will apply technological advances in rural and mountainous areas, including 25 enterprises applying hi-tech.
The program’s investment is estimated at VND 1,200 billion.
